The Difference That Makes The Difference:
When I started studying NLP, much of the material talked about how NLP looks to find the ‘difference that makes the difference’ in human achievement or behavior. This difference is that one piece of information or behavior that allows you to do something that you’ve never been able to do. Over the years, I’ve experienced this many times, in many different situations. It’s like finding the perfect tool to perform some task that has eluded you for a long time.
Working with people I’ve noticed one difference that has a huge impact on their ability to achieve their goals. It’s so simple and so seemingly obvious that I believe it is often overlooked. Simply put, it’s the willingness to take action. As obvious as this seems, very few people take advantage of this wonderful truth. Look at people who achieve a lot and you will see people who take action on a regular basis.
Many people think that taking action means attempting something big and bold, or perhaps dangerous. This is not really the case. People who accomplish a great deal have somehow learned that taking any action brings results. These are people who know how to begin things and keep taking small steps that gain momentum. If you look at anything that you have accomplished, you will see that it was a combination of hundreds or thousands of tiny steps.
All the best,
Rob
